Why didn't I pack my brown trousers

By bus to the Walk Japan offices and a wander through their property and projects involving land regeneration and helping local farmers. One of the local farmers invite us to their home for tea and fruit. Then back into our bus for the start of our day's walk.
Very steep upward ascent to mountain ridge where we have our bento and then a terrifying walk up and down vertical stone walls with ladders and chains to help us and then most terrifying of all a walk across a narrow path with steep drops on either side with a bonus scramble over a boulder halfway along. Frank freezes and needs to hang onto the guides backpack with visions of us both plummeting into the ravine, our bodies never being recovered. Afterwards our guide tells us he often has a desire to jump off high places. Anyway we both survive. On our descent we view giant cliff carvings from the 9th and 13th centuries and then it is a bus trip to Yufuin where we will stay for the next 3 nights.
