After breakfast there are tears as our beloved leader Ben departs-some of our members volunteer to commit seppuku if this will persuade him to stay.-they are dissuaded. We are now on our own in Yufuin-a town geared for Japanese and Korean tourists. We try out the local delicacies and gather supplies for the next series of walks.
At 5pm we meet our new guide "Super" Mario-half Carribean, half Polish Jew-speaks Japanese like a Japanese and English like a New Yorker.
