Early morning start(no surprise there) and then by taxi to the beginning of today's walk-the dreaded Mt. Yufu-dake-elevation 1583m. In 2.5 hours we are the first people to have scaled this previously impenetrable gargantuan! We lunch at the summit then begins the perilous descent-some of our party are lost but are found again by our noble leader, Ben. We return to our Ryokan and after receiving our medals from the Japanese Prime Minister we have a relaxing bath.
Dinner is at the adjacent Izakaya and consists mainly of grilled meaty substances.
